My name is Mark Kinkead, sole owner and founder of Killer Bee Software. I have been a long time wargamer and computer gamer. I have produced utilities for games such as Dungeon Keeper II, Empire Deluxe, The Perfect General, and Counter Strike. I have also played a role in the execution of the Gib-O-Rama and Houston Area Counter Strike LAN Parties over the past three years or so.

Located out of Houston, Texas, the mission of Killer Bee Software will be to provide games, utilities, and Lan Events in the computer strategy genre.

My pride and joy are the Empire series and the Perfect General. Both of these were acquired from uber-strategy game designer Mark Baldwin in late 2002. I have since been working with these games, keeping them alive for gaming fans new and old, and have written my own follow-on to Empire Deluxe entitled Empire Deluxe Enhanced Edition, which has been very well received and has a continually growing community. 

No, writing and selling these games will not make me rich from a material sense, but they have enriched my life greatly...I am having a wonderful time doing it, and I always have future projects in my head.

I am an independent game developer, beholden to no publisher. The games are sold from this site through my distributor, and roughly 90% of the revenue goes to me. When you support these games, you are supporting the personalized customer support you deserve, as well as maintaining the life of these games for many more decades to come.

Some may say they are 'old games'. I agree. Historically, I cannot think of a game out there with such commercial circulation that can boast of being well into its fourth decade, as Empire is. Yet we keep playing these games, for they are truly great, and have inspired a whole genre of games, some of which have come and gone, but these will never die ;>
